Assassination: The Intellectual Martyrs of the Palestinian Revolution
January–June 2019

On the Intellectual Martyrs of the Palestinian Revolution Since the beginning of the Palestinian Revolution, a great number of intellectuals and academics joined its fronts, just like all Palestinians. They contributed to the creation and transmission of the Palestinian narrative at their place of presence.
The Exhibition “Assassination … On the Intellectual Martyrs of the Palestinian Revolution,” is the 5th rotating exhibit presented for six months organized by Yasser Arafat Museum.  The exhibition presents 15 prominent intellectuals and academics who were assassinated by Israel and its “undercover agents” for their great success in presenting the Palestinian narrative, whether through their diplomatic or political work, their creativity in the fields of culture and knowledge, or their roles in paving the way and building bridges to develop Palestinian relations with the world, particularly Western Europe during the 70’s and 80’s of the 20th century, during which the recognition of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) as the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people continued to spread worldwide.
The exhibition consists of 15 portraits, drawn for the exhibit by 15 artists.  Personal items and belongings for some of these martyrs are borrowed by the Museum for display.  A screen will present some of the martyrs speaking, albeit in different languages but with one purpose; this exhibit is dedicated for these martyrs.
