On Sunday, the 7th of July 2019, Dr. Nasser Al-Kidwa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yasser Arafat Foundation, and Mrs. Khalil Al-Wazir (Um Jihad), Chair of the Museum Committee and member of the Board of Directors of Yasser Arafat Foundation, officially opened the special exhibition, Guardians of Our Eternal Flame. Among the dignitaries who attended the opening were members of the Executive Committee of the PLO, Dr. Hanan Ashrawi, Saleh Raafat, Minister of Culture Dr. Atef Abu Seif, members of the Board of Yasser Arafat Foundation, and other political, cultural and media figures.
The exhibition is distinguished by its presentation of the works of female artists – who are, of course, the most knowledgeable of the role, concerns and ambitions of women.
Guardians of Our Eternal Flame presents the work of twelve Palestinian female artists, as well as a daughter of the occupied Syrian Golan Heights who lives between Ramallah and Majdal Shams.
The exhibition recognizes and promotes the role of Palestinian women in Palestinian life and journey for freedom, national independence, struggle to achieve their full rights.
