Yasser Arafat Museum Opens Intifada Exhibition in Bethlehem (15/2/2018)

Yasser Arafat Museum and Dar Al-Kalima University College of Arts and Culture presented the photo exhibition, Intifada, at the Dar Al-Kalima Art Gallery on Monday, the 12th of February 2018.
 

The exhibit features 36 photos captured by photographer Keith Dannemiller during the first Intifada. Photographic images have played an important role in revealing to the world the reality of the Palestinian living under occupation as an unarmed freedom fighter.
 

In his remarks, Director of Yasser Arafat Museum Mohammad Halayka declared that “The opening of Intifada exhibition is one of the Museum’s main objectives to reinforce partnerships with cultural and educational Palestinian institutions to develop and implement activities that exemplify the Palestinian national identity and culture.  We hope that this cooperation between the Museum and Dar Al-Kalima College will continue to support and enhance our cultural and national missions.”
 

Rev. Dr. Mitri Raheb, President of Dar Al-Kalima University, affirmed “the significance of this exhibition, being in partnership with a great institution like Yasser Arafat Museum that documents the events of the first Intifada and peaceful resistance and depict the reality of the Palestinian narrative.”

                                                                        

Rev. Dr. Mitri Raheb expressed his gratitude to the Yasser Arafat Museum and its directors, in particular Dr. Nasser Alkidwa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yasser Arafat Foundation.

Intifada, was first presented in Exhibition Hall at Yasser Arafat Museum on the 6th of July 2017, and remained on display for six months.

The exhibit was later shown at the Child Cultural Center in Nablus, and will now remain on display at the Dar Al-Kalima College Art Gallery through the 26th of February 2018.
