Establishing the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) 
On the 22nd of February 1969, the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), led by Nayef Hawatmeh, is established after seperating from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).
Election of Yasser Arafat as Chairman of the Executive Committee
of the Palestine Liberation Organization
At the fourth meeting of the Palestinian National Council, held in Cairo on the 10th of July 1968, the Fatah Movement joins the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). On the 4th of February 1969, at the next meeting of the Palestinian National Council also in Cairo, Yasser Arafat is elected Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization.
Research center establishment 
On the 28th of February 1965, the [PLO] Research Center is established. Its objectives include studying the various aspects of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and providing information to PLO departments to support their political and media activities; collecting documents, books and studies; and establishing a specialized library.
Amman Agreement
Yasser Arafat and King Hussein reach a Jordanian-Palestinian agreement on the 11th February 1985, known as the “Amman Agreement.” Among the main principles of the Agreement is that “Palestinians shall exercise their right to self-determination when Jordanians and Palestinians are able to achieve Israeli withdrawal and in the framework of the Arab Confederation intended to be established between the two states of Jordan and Palestine.”
Al-Ibrahimi Mosque Massacre 
During the holy month of Ramadan, Israeli settler Baruch Golstein commits a massacre killing 30 Palestinian worshippers at Al-Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron. Following the attack, the United Nations Security Council adopts resolution 904 (1994) on the 25th of February 1994, that condemns the massacre and calls upon Israel, the occupying power, to continue to take and implement measures, including confiscation of arms, with the aim of preventing illegal acts of violence by Israeli settlers. It also “calls for measures to be taken to guarantee the safety and protection of the Palestinian civilians throughout the occupied territory.”
