In commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the “Intifada of the Stones,” Yasser Arafat Museum and Nablus Municipality presented the photo exhibition Intifada at the Child Cultural Center in Nablus on Thursday, the 25th of January 2018.
The Exhibit features images captured by photographer Keith Dannemiller during the first Intifada, from 1988 through 1989.
General Director of Yasser Arafat Foundation Dr. Ahmad Soboh, Director of Yasser Arafat Museum Mohammad Halayka, Mayor of Nablus Municipality AdliYa’eesh, members of the Municipal Council, representatives of Child Cultural Center, and other prominent figures and citizens attended the opening.
In his remarks, Dr. Soboh affirmed the commitment of the Foundation and Museum to develop and implement cultural activities that exemplify the Palestinian contemporary national movement. Mayor Ya’eesh also affirmed the Municipality’s dedication to support cultural and national activities that preserve the memory and struggle of the Palestinian people.
The exhibit is open to public through the end of January 2018, and is scheduled to travel to a number of cities, including Bethlehem, Nazareth, Jerusalem and Gaza.
The exhibition, Intifada, was first presented in Exhibition Hall at Yasser Arafat Museum on the 6th of July 2017, and remained on display for six months.
