Commemoration of the 21st Anniversary of the Martyrdom of the Founding Leader

2025-11-11

On Tuesday, November 11, 2025, Yasser Arafat Foundation marked the 21st anniversary of the passing of the founding leader, Yasser Arafat. The ceremony took place at his mausoleum in Ramallah, attended by Vice President Hussein Al-Sheikh, several members of the PLO Executive Committee and Fatah Central Committee, members of the Revolutionary Council, the Prime Minister and cabinet, along with religious, security, and community leaders, and a large public gathering.

This year’s commemoration was limited to laying wreaths on the tomb of the late President Abu Ammar and holding a moment of silence in his memory and in honor of all Palestinian martyrs. The ceremony took place amid the difficult conditions facing the Palestinian people, despite the halt of the genocide in Gaza and the continued escalation of settler attacks in the West Bank.

Vice President Hussein Al-Sheikh laid the President’s wreath, followed by Deputy Speaker of the National Council Engineer Mousa Hadid, members of the PLO Executive Committee, the Prime Minister and cabinet members, and members of Fatah’s Central Committee.

The Yasser Arafat Foundation’s Board of Directors, management, and staff also laid a wreath at the mausoleum.

Representatives of PLO factions, security leaders, governors, foreign embassies and missions, popular unions and committees, and women’s organizations also placed wreaths in tribute to the late leader.
