On Monday, July 8, 2024, Al-Muntada Hall at the Yasser Arafat Museum hosted a press conference to announce the winner of the third edition of the Ghassan Kanafani Arabic Novel Award for 2024.

The conference began with a minute of silence and the recitation of Al-Fatiha in honor of the late martyr President Yasser Arafat and the souls of Palestinian martyrs.

Minister of Culture Imad Hamdan announced that the winner of the Ghassan Kanafani Award for its third edition in 2024 is the Kuwaiti Arab novelist Abdullah Al-Husseini for his novel "Baqi Al-Washm".

The event was attended by Dr. Ahmed Soboh, Director General of the Yasser Arafat Foundation, Minister of Culture Imad Hamdan, members of the Ghassan Kanafani Award Committee, journalists, and staff from the Ministry of Culture.
