Nine hundred children who participated in the Yasser Arafat Summer Camps organized by Yasser Arafat Foundation visited the Museum in July 2017.
Staff members of the Museum and the Foundation received the children in nine visits, each of which included 100 children. Each visit began with chants of the children at the Yasser Arafat Mausoleum, continued with guided tours of the Museum’s exhibits and included a storytelling activity by members of Al-Hakawati Theatre, narrating the journey of Yasser Arafat.
As noted by Mohammad Halayka, Director of the Museum, it is very important for children to visit the Museum, to learn more about the history of Yasser Arafat and Palestine.
Organized for the second consecutive year by the Foundation in nine locations in the West Bank, the Yasser Arafat Summer Camps are designed to promote and educate youth about the Palestinian national culture, citizenship and democracy.
